Cast Pumpkins - Guided Workshop (2-day)

Celebrate the Autumn season and dive into the fascinating world of kiln casting! In this 2-day guided workshop, students will learn how to transform real mini pumpkins into beautiful glass art.
On day-1 students will learn a practical and easy new technique for kiln casting a solid object without using traditional methods involving clay or wax! Students will be guided step-by-step through the process of creating custom plaster molds directly from real pumpkins, then setting them up for a pot melt in the kiln to fill the molds with glass. On day-2 students will return to divest their pumpkins from their molds and coldwork the finished pieces. 
Each student will cast a set of 3 custom glass pumpkins perfect for decorating a fall table or mantlescape. 

All materials are provided for this workshop. 
Note that class dates are not consecutive to allow for the processes long kiln fire. 

Guided Workshops are recommended for ages 16+
