The Glassroom Story

Glassroom began with a dream. Educator and artist Sandra Gross always imagined a place where anyone at any age could discover the joy of glass art. Drawing on her background in fused glass, Sandy created a beginner-friendly curriculum designed to spark creativity while teaching the fundamentals of glass fusing.

Our very first class was a Storytime for 3-year-olds. At the time, the idea of introducing young children to glass seemed bold, but the response was incredible. From that moment, Glassroom grew quickly, expanding into workshops that range from making simple coasters and bowls to in-depth introductions to kilnformed glass.

Along the way, Glassroom’s fresh approach caught the attention of Bullseye Glass, who invited us to write their very first children’s glass art curriculum in Portland, OR. Sandy has also shared her expertise at BECon, the world’s leading fused glass conference, speaking multiple times on the art of teaching children through glass.

Glassroom is the educational wing of Brazee Glass Design, a nationally recognized studio transforming corporate, public, and residential spaces with large-scale glass artwork. Together, under one 20,000-square-foot roof, Brazee and Glassroom are pioneering new ways to connect glass with both design and education.

Glassroom’s mission is to help people of all ages unlock their creativity through glass. Whether you’re 3 or 100, there’s a workshop waiting for you. Come join us, and let’s MAKE GLASS ART together!
